The City of Cape Town is set to commence with the resurfacing of Connaught Road in Beaconvale tomorrow, 26 July 2022. The project team will commence with minor works in preparation for the construction that will start 1August 2022 and is scheduled to be completed by 1 September 2022, pending unforeseen delays and inclement weather.
The work is planned to take place at night from 19:00 until 06:00 on weekdays, weather permitting.
‘The road resurfacing to be done along Connaught Road will start at Market Street all the way up until Francie van Zijl Drive. We are implementing the works at night to minimise the level of inconvenience to road users and residents. However, residents can expect a level of noise pollution during this time. We have measures in place to help direct residents during the construction period and we urge residents to please comply,’ said the Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
These include:
The City’s Road Infrastructure Management Department will be milling the existing road and replacing it with new asphalt road surface. This work forms part of regular maintenance to prolong the longevity of the city’s road network
