The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate will perform maintenance on traffic signs at various major and minor arterial road intersections in the Mitchells Plain area, including local roads in Tafelsig and Portlands. Work is set to commence on Thursday, 3 November 2022 and is expected to conclude by Wednesday, 30 November 2022.
The maintenance work is planned to take place on weekdays between 07:30 and 17:00 to limit the impact on road users.
The work comprises the maintenance of guidance and directional signs at various intersections in the Mitchells Plain area, and will include the installation of various regulatory and warning signs at local roads in Tafelsig and Portlands.
The following intersections are due to undergo maintenance work:
‘We ask that the community please cooperate with our team on the ground while the project is ongoing. We would like to perform essential maintenance work on the road traffic signs to provide residents in the area with safe and functional intersections,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
This work forms part of regular maintenance to prolong the longevity of the city’s road network.
