Signatura Property Development, a private developer, is set to commence with the construction of a new sewer line to be connected to an existing sewer manhole. The work will affect three parking bays and a loading bay and a section of the busy Regent Road in Sea Point.

The work is scheduled to commence on Monday, 23 May 2022, and is expected to take 15 days to complete, pending unforeseen and inclement weather.

Signatura Property Development was contracted to construct a new multi-level apartment block and to construct and connect all new municipal services, including the new 39m x 160mm sewer pipe, and build a new manhole to connect into the existing manhole in Regent Road in Sea Point.

For the work to take place, one lane along Regent Road will be closed. As a result, traffic travelling towards Camps Bay will be detoured via Kloof Road and Church Road, while traffic flow towards Cape Town will be maintained on Regent Road.

‘The road will remain open as the work is being implemented in the parking bays and on one lane, which will be closed. Regent Road is a very busy road and has numerous businesses and popular restaurants. Thus, we appeal to residents and motorists to please exercise extra caution and reduce the speed limit to at least 40km/h when moving around the construction site,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

‘I further urge residents, where possible, to consider using alternate routes to avoid unnecessary delays and disappointments,’ said Cllr Quintas.
